Key Responsibilities:

This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and growth-driven operations of the IPS Clifton Service center. The successful candidate will:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage performance to cultivate a world-class team focused on safety, engineering, quality, customer service, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Meet financial objectives outlined in the service center's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) by effectively managing repair job margins.
  • Guarantee adherence to established procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, including inspections, data collection, and material delivery, while meeting IPS Standard of Work (SOW) criteria.
  • Develop and oversee a monthly priority list to fulfill customer delivery needs and achieve financial targets.
  • Assist in formulating work plans, scheduling operations, and expediting materials and time estimates for work operations.
  • Direct hourly staff to prioritize safety and actively engage in site-specific safety audits, incident reporting, training, Job Hazard Analysis, LOTOs, housekeeping, and inspection activities.
  • Instill accountability at all levels through consistent record-keeping and training initiatives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive training plan and ensure required certifications for hourly employees.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate hourly labor needs on the shop floor to support incoming tear downs, inspections, and production repair jobs.
  • Oversee staffing of the hourly workforce and manage personnel aspects such as time logging, job performance against work plans, and overtime tracking/authorization.
  • Drive improvements in key Customer Facing Metrics: (Quality, Time to Quote, Approval to Ship, and Ship to Invoice) as well as Key IPS Metrics: (Safety, Margin Performance vs. Work Plans, Labor Utilization, Direct and Indirect Costs).
  • Act as a strategic problem solver with a strong commitment to fostering growth within the organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Technical expertise in electrical and/or mechanical products (REQUIRED).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations, complemented by industrial supervisory experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including supervisory roles in fast-paced service and manufacturing environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of motor and pump repair services, encompassing machining, electrical testing, and assembly processes.
  • Experience with operational production and materials control systems.
  • Strong grasp of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles, and production scheduling, with a focus on driving operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in computer usage and office equipment, including MS Office and IPS business systems.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of providing clear instructions, compiling business reports, and presenting information effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory abilities, including emotional intelligence, coaching, feedback provision, and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills for problem-solving and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to plan and organize work processes; adept at self-directing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • 7 or more years of customer service experience in an industrial setting or equivalent educational background preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with current and prospective customers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Capacity to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training.
