Transwest, a leading manufacturer of custom vehicles including tool trucks and mobile libraries, is thrilled to announce an opening for a Specialty Vehicle Assembly Specialist.

Each vehicle we create is tailored from the chassis up, designed to meet the unique requirements and preferences of our varied clientele, ranging from large corporations to independent operators.

As a Specialty Vehicle Assembly Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and installation of flooring, shelving, cabinetry, and electrical systems, configuring diverse vehicle systems across a broad spectrum of vehicle types and sizes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assemble and install flooring, shelving, cabinetry, and electrical systems to configure various vehicle systems on a wide variety of vehicle types and sizes.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all company-owned tools are accounted for at all times.

- Adapt to changing job requirements, which may involve additional or different tasks as circumstances evolve (e.g., emergencies, personnel changes, workload fluctuations, or technological advancements).

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.


WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Operation of both simple and complex machinery.
  • Working in areas that may not be ventilated or air-conditioned.
  • A full range of body motion, including handling, lifting, and fine manipulation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Normal hearing and vision range.
  • Understanding of vague and implicit instructions, with the ability to respond appropriately in various work situations.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

- High School Diploma or GED.

- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

- Familiarity with hardwoods and wood products is advantageous.

- Strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

- Motivated individual capable of working independently.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and undergo a post-offer background check, physical examination, and drug screening.


JOB DETAILS:

Type: Hourly

Compensation Range: $18.00 to $28.00

Bonus Eligibility: No

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Shift: 4 days a week with 10-hour shifts
