Position Overview

The Manager - Regional Client Services is accountable for supervising and directing a specific Sales territory, along with the management of service and regional account personnel.

This role involves contributing to the formulation of cohesive best practices and efficient workflows within the Regional Client Services Team, which encompasses all facets of client service delivery and general office management. The Manager will also act as a liaison and advocate for their office to various administrative departments and the Sales Operations sector.

The Manager will participate in diverse initiatives and projects aligned with corporate objectives. They will support the development and oversight of training programs for both new and existing employees as necessary, and facilitate the performance management and growth of their team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Service leadership team to oversee all service and account management roles within the designated Regional Sales Territory. Effectively manage all operational functions and workflows to support corporate sales, retention, and profitability targets. This includes:
    • Supervising all service team members to meet required productivity, quality, and staffing benchmarks.
    • Conducting annual performance assessments and development plans.
    • Recruiting, managing performance, and participating in employee separations.
    • Providing clear job descriptions and career progression paths for the designated Regional Sales Territory.
    • Adhering to best practice management standards as established by Service Operations leadership.
  • In partnership with Service Leadership, ensure that the assigned Regional Sales Territory achieves all service/sales support goals, operational excellence, and productivity targets.
  • Support the involvement of the Regional Sales Territory in National Accounts, including expertise in integrated disability products.
  • Coordinate with the Regional Sales Manager on plans for office expansion or relocation as needed.
  • Ensure the Service team meets key activity metrics and documents client strategies and statuses as required.
  • Oversee all in-force and renewal activities to ensure timely resolution of service issues and delivery of renewal information, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Achieve all necessary metrics related to service delivery and retention.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience, preferably in the Group Insurance sector within a Regional Sales Office.
  • At least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience, demonstrating strong influencing skills across all levels of staff and management.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office Suite, with the ability to quickly learn required internal systems.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative sales environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in service levels provided by all sales, service, and support personnel within the assigned Regional Sales Office.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with other departments and external vendors.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment.
  • Focus on delivering best practices in sales, service, and support to the assigned Regional Sales Office producer staff, brokers, clients, and Administrative Office personnel.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Appropriate licensing (Life and Health for assigned States) is required.
