POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Regional Events Manager is to enhance Private Dining operations through proactive engagement with potential clients, ongoing prospecting, local marketing initiatives, and managing incoming inquiries for Private Dining events. This role involves addressing questions regarding Banquets and other events, understanding client objectives, customizing solutions, upselling services, generating Banquet Event Orders, and ensuring effective communication of event details to the Restaurant Management Team.

In addition to responding to inquiries, the Regional Events Manager will develop and implement strategies to identify and engage social and business prospects, assess the effectiveness of these strategies, close sales, nurture relationships with past clients, and support event execution by welcoming guests and ensuring exceptional service. This includes managing the sales pipeline through various prospecting methods such as cold calls, referrals, and leveraging internal resources. The role also involves identifying marketing opportunities and collaborating with the Home Office Marketing Team to enhance awareness and drive sales.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Identify and negotiate marketing and advertising opportunities within the local market.
  2. Create a bi-annual marketing strategy and conduct competitive analysis.
  3. Collaborate with Home Office Marketing Managers to ensure profitable advertising initiatives.
  4. Utilize prospecting tactics to fill the sales pipeline.
  5. Present and negotiate services, ensuring profitability.
  6. Manage accounts to foster relationships with key clients.
  7. Deliver exceptional service to develop guest rapport and encourage repeat business.
  8. Engage actively with guests in various settings to enhance visibility and networking.
  9. Maintain memberships with relevant associations and attend networking events to promote private dining services.
  10. Request local marketing support as needed.
  11. Pursue preferred caterer status at local venues.
  12. Coordinate event menus with the Chef to ensure inventory and availability.
  13. Conduct prospect visits and host tours for potential clients.
  14. Utilize booking software to track leads and events.
  15. Respond promptly to inquiries to secure reservations and generate revenue.
  16. Negotiate terms and prepare contracts.
  17. Ensure clarity of event details with the management team.
  18. Develop and execute local events to drive additional sales.
  19. Maintain records of guest interactions and transactions.
  20. Maximize profitability through responsible sales techniques.
  21. Report on account status and leads to management.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of one year of outside sales experience is required. A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. Experience in restaurant, hospitality, event planning, or event marketing is preferred. Familiarity with booking software is advantageous.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, talk, and hear. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequent use of hands for handling objects or telephone. Occasional lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds. Work involves computer use and paperwork.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a restaurant setting with routine travel to meet clients and conduct sales calls. Shifts typically range from 10 to 12 hours and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. The environment may involve exposure to loud noises and various odors.
