Candidate Profile


Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering

Extensive knowledge of refinery and chemical operations, including equipment functionalities. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required.

Key Competencies:

Proficiency in process and hydraulic simulations, utilities and flare networks, capability to produce process descriptions, articulate operational philosophies, and establish process control foundations.


Familiarity with cost estimation throughout a project's lifecycle is essential.

Strong communication skills are a must.


Key Responsibilities


Become a vital member of our US Refining & Chemicals Team as a Senior Engineering Consultant within our Project Development division.

What does being part of the Project Development Team entail?

It involves advancing project development through FEED (Front-end engineering and design), conducting cost/benefit analyses, preparing final project justifications, and securing stakeholder approval.


Collaboration across various departments and disciplines is crucial.

What qualities are necessary for a Senior Engineering Consultant?

Leadership, coordination, teamwork, effective communication, and execution are key. The ability to engage with all organizational levels and drive sustainable improvements is essential.

Some primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead project development through FEED for the designated platform, including Base Chemicals and related assets. This involves coordinating project cost/benefit analyses, developing final project justifications, and achieving consensus among stakeholders for funding approval.
  • Engage in strategic special projects and studies, such as compliance with relief systems capacity, air emissions regulations, mitigation of Hazop findings, and enhancement of energy efficiency.
  • Contribute to profitability enhancement initiatives by evaluating and implementing high-return, low-cost capital projects to strengthen competitive positioning and optimize capital returns.
  • Support approved capital projects as they transition to the EPC phase, including assistance with the generation and updating of operating manuals, operator training, management of change, and troubleshooting during startup.

Work Environment


This position is situated within the Project Development department, part of the broader Technical Department.

The role does not involve direct reports and manages capital projects with an average annual value of approximately $20 million (5-10 projects annually).
