TEAM INSIGHT:

The Fund Services division is dedicated to supporting Virtus' open-end mutual funds, ETFs, and a significant portion of our closed-end funds by delivering comprehensive administrative services. These services encompass fund accounting and reporting, tax compliance, regulatory oversight, shareholder engagement, and treasury operations. Our mission is to safeguard shareholder assets, manage risk holistically, and provide exceptional support to meet shareholder inquiries.

  • Fund Administration includes Accounting and Reporting as well as Tax and Treasury functions. These roles involve valuing portfolio holdings, monitoring risk characteristics, establishing a robust financial control framework, overseeing service providers, implementing leverage and redemption mechanisms, and assisting portfolio management teams with yield forecasting.
  • Shareholder Services operates a dedicated call center that addresses inquiries from individual investors, implements fund initiatives, and supports intermediaries with platform establishment requests.
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Pricing & Valuation Manager for Mutual Fund Administration will take the lead in developing complex financial models for securities, both internally and through third-party valuation vendors utilized by Virtus mutual funds, ETFs, and UCITS/QIFs. This role is integral to the Pricing & Valuation team at Virtus Fund Services, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of security valuations in daily NAV calculations. Additionally, this position will contribute to the design and implementation of the valuation control framework in compliance with the Investment Company Act of 1940.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with third-party pricing vendors and subadvisors to establish appropriate valuation models for complex instruments not traded on exchanges, utilized in daily fund NAV calculations.
  • Document and evaluate pricing vendor methodologies, ensuring compliance with SEC rule 2a-5 requirements through monitoring, testing, and reporting on any changes.
  • Engage with fund Treasurers, the Valuation Committee, and the Board of Directors regarding complex security valuations, including derivatives.
  • Support the onboarding of new products or security types, assessing their impact on daily valuations and regulatory considerations.
  • Assist in designing and implementing the valuation control framework for mutual funds, ETFs, UCITS, and QIFs, adhering to the regulations of the Investment Company Act of 1940.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or over 5 years of pertinent financial modeling expertise.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the mutual fund sector, including regulatory frameworks, vendors, complex investment instruments such as derivatives, and their implications for pricing and valuation.
  • Proficient multitasking abilities to manage multiple complex tasks under stringent deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $118,000, with the starting offer determined by the applicant's education, experience, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and market alignment. This role is also eligible for participation in a company incentive plan.
