Ares Management Corporation is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Manager/Senior Manager within our esteemed Portfolio Analytics team. This team is recognized for its expertise in secondary market transactions involving private equity, real estate, and infrastructure investments, managing assets under management (AUM) of approximately $22 billion.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding junior team members while collaborating with key stakeholders across various departments, including Secondaries Deal Teams, Accounting, and Investor Relations. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in private equity or real estate funds, who possesses a solid understanding of fund reporting, partnership accounting, and performance metrics. This position demands a proactive, adaptable, and hands-on professional who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor analysts and associates to foster their professional growth.
- Provide continuous training and constructive feedback to team members and interns.
- Collaborate with investment professionals to enhance portfolio monitoring efforts.
- Conduct thorough reviews of quarterly investment report valuations, focusing on diversification metrics and valuation fluctuations.
- Prepare or review documentation for quarterly investor reports, including performance returns at both portfolio and fund levels (TWR, IRR, Multiples, etc.).
- Analyze and comprehend complex fund structures and vehicles.
- Prepare or review analyses of valuation changes and their drivers across portfolio investments.
- Manage investment amendments and consents in collaboration with investment professionals.
- Participate in investment update discussions and prepare or review summary memos.
- Review data utilized by Investor Relations for investor presentations and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- An MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is advantageous.
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of relevant financial experience, including public accounting.
- At least 4 years of experience in the private equity or private real estate sector is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with eFront Software is a plus.

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Principal of Portfolio Analytics.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $170,000. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus.
