Position Overview
Ares Management Corporation is seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Manager/Senior Manager within our Portfolio Analytics team. This team is dedicated to the secondary market transactions of private equity, real estate, and infrastructure investments, managing assets under management (AUM) of approximately $22 billion.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in mentoring and supervising junior team members while collaborating with key stakeholders across various departments, including Secondaries Deal Teams, Accounting, and Investor Relations. The ideal applicant will have a solid background in private equity or real estate fund management, with a strong grasp of fund reporting, partnership accounting, and performance evaluation metrics. This position demands a proactive, adaptable, and hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor analysts and associates within the team.
- Provide continuous training and constructive feedback to team members and interns.
- Collaborate with investment professionals to support portfolio monitoring activities.
- Conduct thorough reviews of quarterly investment report valuations, focusing on diversification metrics and valuation changes.
- Prepare or assess documentation for quarterly investor reports, including performance metrics at both portfolio and fund levels (TWR, IRR, Multiples, etc.).
- Analyze and comprehend complex fund structures and vehicles.
- Prepare or evaluate analyses regarding valuation changes and the factors influencing portfolio investments.
- Manage investment amendments and consents in collaboration with investment professionals.
- Participate in investment update discussions and draft or review summary memos.
- Scrutinize data utilized by Investor Relations for investor presentations and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- An MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is advantageous.
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of relevant financial experience, which may encompass public accounting.
- At least 4 years of experience in the private equity or private real estate sector is highly preferred.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office; familiarity with eFront Software is a plus.

Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Principal of Portfolio Analytics.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $150,000 and $170,000. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. The range considers a wide array of qualifications, including years of relevant experience, educational background, and other pertinent qualifications specific to the role.
