Position Overview

Cornell College is seeking a full-time Director of Institutional Effectiveness to lead and manage the strategic direction of institutional assessment, research, and accreditation processes. This role is crucial for enhancing institutional quality and ensuring compliance with external standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives in institutional effectiveness, focusing on assessment, research, and strategic planning.
  • Oversee compliance reporting and quality enhancement projects, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards.
  • Manage the assessment of student learning outcomes and program evaluations, guiding relevant committees and faculty.
  • Analyze data related to student success and retention, collaborating with various stakeholders to address challenges.
  • Support the development of institutional strategic plans and oversee external reporting obligations.
  • Supervise the creation of the annual institutional fact book, highlighting performance trends.
  • Administer internal and external surveys, analyzing results to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for leadership to facilitate informed strategic choices.
  • Manage the budget for the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and supervise staff within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain high ethical standards in all activities.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in higher education, institutional research, or a related field is required, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience in assessment and accreditation within a higher education context.

  • Proficiency in student learning assessment and program evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong project management and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software and assessment management tools.
