Position Overview:
CUMULUS MEDIA is seeking a dedicated Broadcast IT Chief Engineer to oversee our technical operations.

About Us:
We operate a cluster of five radio stations, providing diverse programming to our community and prioritizing service to our listeners, employees, and advertisers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure station functionality through regular maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Develop and implement routine maintenance protocols for all broadcasting equipment, ensuring thorough documentation.
  • Oversee the installation and upkeep of Axia consoles, AOIP audio distribution systems, and other essential broadcasting technology.
  • Collaborate with management to facilitate remote broadcasts as required.
  • Maintain compliance with FCC regulations, manage budgets, and oversee property maintenance.
  • Be available for travel to various locations for equipment management and emergency situations.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for urgent technical issues.

Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of FCC regulations and requirements.
  • Experience with satellite distribution, audio routing, and digital audio delivery systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Server/OS and Office365.
  • Capable of troubleshooting broadcast and IT equipment at a component level.
  • Experience with high-power AM and FM transmitting facilities.
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN setups and endpoint management.
  • Understanding of electrical systems and backup power solutions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs and ladders.

Education and Licensing:
A technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred, along with relevant certifications. A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance are required.
