Job Summary/Description:

WECT is on the lookout for an individual eager to embark on a career as a Broadcast Systems Technician. This role involves essential facilities upkeep, including minor carpentry, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks. A foundational understanding of IT and electronics principles is crucial for success in this position.


The Broadcast Systems Technician will oversee the maintenance and management of studio and transmitter facilities, while also assisting in the upkeep of technical equipment utilized in a television station.

The role may occasionally require working during evenings, weekends, and inclement weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic electrical and electronic repairs
  • Utilize Windows networking knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications
  • Employ hand tools for minor repairs in electrical, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Understand daily facilities maintenance requirements
  • Possess an Associate's degree in IT, electronic technology, or equivalent experience
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and enhance skills necessary for a successful career as a broadcast engineer
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Be prepared for occasional work on ladders and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds
