As part of our global Information Technology (IT) Function, this role is crucial in aligning IT with business strategies, optimizing investments, and enhancing business processes and information integration technologies.

Role Responsibilities:
This position entails collaboration with team members to manage, modify, and develop computer systems essential for the production of optical fiber. You will also engage in or occasionally lead projects aimed at achieving plant objectives, reducing costs, and supporting capacity expansion initiatives.

Daily Duties Include:

  • Providing production support and troubleshooting for a continuous manufacturing operation.
  • Collaborating with production associates, technicians, and engineers to ensure the reliable operation of automated control systems and user interfaces.
  • Supporting process and product optimization efforts.
  • Delivering training for engineers and production associates on new processes, equipment, or control systems.
  • Participating in capital projects as required.
  • Being available for after-hours on-call support when necessary.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or have equivalent experience. A minimum of 2 years in a technical role or relevant experience is required.

Essential Skills:
Proficiency in programming languages such as VB, .NET, C, and real-time systems is necessary.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in integrating computers into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs is desirable. Familiarity with MS Windows, iFIX, EthernetIP I/O, Microsoft Office, real-time control systems, and SCADA is advantageous. Experience in production support within a manufacturing environment, along with strong problem-solving and debugging skills, is essential.

Travel and Work Hours:
Some domestic and international travel may be required (0-10%). Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, with occasional off-hours on-call support.
