Compensation: The starting salary is between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour, with initial compensation set at $20.00 per hour. Following a three-month probationary period, salary increments will be based on performance evaluations.

Work Schedule: This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as necessary.

About Ecological Concerns Incorporated: Founded in 1992, ECI specializes in ecological landscape and habitat restoration, operating as both a contractor and a native plant nursery. Our services encompass integrated design, cultivation, and construction to ensure comprehensive project delivery for our clients across the greater Monterey and San Francisco Bay areas.

Position Overview: The Landscape Facility Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the landscape construction yard and nursery facility. This role requires strong management skills to ensure optimal operational support for production teams while maintaining a professional and friendly environment for all staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize the entire yard and tool storage areas in collaboration with team members.
  • Supervise the maintenance of all company vehicles, field equipment, and inventory assets.
  • Oversee fuel storage, dispensing, tracking, and inventory management.
  • Train, assess, and supervise staff in the proper use and upkeep of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure that inventory lists for all company assets are accurate and up-to-date for safety and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor the condition of trucks and field equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Pre-load delivery vehicles in preparation for upcoming production schedules.
  • Maintain security protocols for yard spaces and storage facilities.
  • Conduct inspections of the yard and facilities to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety procedures among all personnel.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least five years of experience as a mechanic, specifically with vehicles and small engines.
  • A valid driver’s license with insurability under the company’s insurance policy.
  • A clean driving and criminal record.
  • Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility.
  • Physical capability to manage the workload typical of general labor.
  • Full mobility in both upper and lower body, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GPS tracking systems for vehicles and equipment.
  • Experience in inventory management of materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with typing skills of at least 30 WPM with minimal errors.

Continuing Education: A minimum of 20 hours of continuing education is required annually.

Performance Evaluation: The primary criteria for performance evaluation will focus on the efficient management of yard spaces, including the organization of trucks, equipment, and materials to support company production efforts.
