Overview:

The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to guests during their check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout. This position is ideal for those looking to start a career in hospitality, as it involves daily interactions with guests and collaboration with various hotel departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to guest inquiries regarding local attractions, dining options, and transportation.
  2. Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies.
  3. Stay informed about current rates, packages, and special promotions.
  4. Maintain knowledge of in-house groups and events.
  5. Be aware of closed-out and restricted dates.
  6. Gather necessary information for room reservations and follow the established rate-quoting procedures.
  7. Understand hospitality terminology and emergency procedures.
  8. Facilitate check-ins and checkouts in a friendly and efficient manner.
  9. Utilize proper communication etiquette when interacting with team members.
  10. Comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the Front Desk computer system.
  11. Complete all tasks on the shift checklist promptly and efficiently.
  12. Conduct bucket checks, room rate verification reports, and housekeeping reports.
  13. Prepare individual paperwork for shift closing in accordance with hotel standards.
  14. Promote and maintain guest programs and promotions.
  15. Ensure a clean and organized work area.
  16. Assist guests with safe deposit box inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant college coursework is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in computer usage is necessary.
  • Experience in customer service is preferred.
  • Maintain a warm and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to listen and address concerns raised by guests and team members.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Regular attendance is required in compliance with company standards.
  • Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with company policies and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Identify and address problem areas proactively.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information from various sources.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate initiative by anticipating guest and operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
