We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Representative to join our team at the Center for Orthopedic Research and Education. As a Patient Account Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, resolving billing and account inquiries, and working to resolve outstanding patient balances.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to patients and families, answering billing and account questions, and resolving complaints in a professional and confidential manner.
- Billing and Account Management: Assist patients and families with billing and account questions, follow up with insurance companies and internal departments as needed, and work to resolve outstanding patient balances.
- Claims Processing: Analyze accounts for proper claims processing and payment posting, and identify problems and trends.
- Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with clinics, co-workers, and other departments as required.
- Reporting: Ensure that all assigned reports are worked accurately and promptly.
- Experience: Minimum of two to three years of experience in billing or collections in a physician clinic or hospital environment.
- Education: High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred.
- Skills: Knowledge of medical billing and collection policies and procedures, ICD, and CPT coding, and advanced computer knowledge, including Windows-based programs.
