Position Summary:
The Center for Orthopedic Research and Education specializes in delivering comprehensive care across a spectrum of orthopedic conditions, including surgical and non-surgical interventions. Our team is dedicated to excellence in joint replacement, sports medicine, and a variety of musculoskeletal treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient health, ensuring adherence to care plans and determining necessary diagnostic and therapeutic actions.
- Provide both acute and chronic care, which includes taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, administering therapies, and managing medications.
- Evaluate patient inquiries and triage issues effectively.
- Respond to urgent situations, including administering CPR when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and statistics in medical records.
- Educate patients and their families to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in surgical procedures alongside physicians.
- Participate in hospital rounds and address patient concerns after hours and on weekends.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
Education:
Certification in CPR and ACLS is required.
For Physician Assistants:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is preferred, with graduation from an AMA accredited physician assistant program and active or scheduled NCCPA Certification.
For Nurse Practitioners:
A current Arizona license for Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is necessary, along with certification from a national certifying body recognized by the Arizona APRN Board.
Experience:
Previous experience is preferred, but we are willing to train qualified new graduates.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of acute and chronic care protocols, medication administration, and the execution of treatment plans.
- Ability to assess patient health and accurately record physiological and growth data.
- Familiarity with health promotion techniques and patient education strategies.
- Proficient in gathering and analyzing patient data, including physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional factors.
- Capable of evaluating patient issues effectively and providing appropriate interventions or referrals.
