Your Role in Our Success
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Lines Underwriting Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our operations run smoothly by engaging with agents, clients, and service providers to deliver exceptional service.
- Evaluate pricing and risk selection within established guidelines.
- Accurately process work items received from agents, clients, and service providers.
- Request inspection reports and dispatch recommendation letters.
- Issue important notices such as Nonrenewal, Cancellation, and Reinstatement.
- Follow up with agents regarding outstanding requirements.
- Conduct research and review databases, reports, and policy information to complete necessary tasks.
- Manage and service new and renewal business within your authority.
- Process change requests for coverage modifications and policy updates as instructed.
- Engage in project work, including research, policy clean-up, and quality reviews.
- Participate in system testing related to underwriting processes.
- Assist with communications to agencies and clients through approved channels.
- Update policies as authorized by underwriting.
- Stay informed about changes in department procedures and processes.
- Utilize current systems effectively while adhering to established procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry and document management as directed.
- Help maintain departmental quality standards by contributing to service and quality targets.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry of policy files.
- Monitor communications from agents and clients.
Desired Qualifications
To excel in this position, candidates should possess a solid understanding of various lines of business and insurance coverages, with a preference for knowledge in commercial casualty underwriting practices. A minimum of one year of experience in commercial insurance, including agency or underwriting, along with a high school diploma or equivalent, is required.
