Position Overview

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of stock levels within the warehouse environment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining precise inventory records and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts cycle counting tasks to confirm the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Aids warehouse personnel in locating materials efficiently.
  • Updates and maintains quantities, locations, and weights of materials in the inventory management system.
  • Evaluates cycle count results to identify discrepancies between counted and recorded quantities.
  • Investigates inventory variances and prepares detailed reports on inventory and bin locations.
  • Proposes solutions to resolve inventory-related challenges.
  • Records discrepancies for further review.
  • Utilizes computer systems to access and retrieve necessary documentation for inventory management.
  • Establishes new storage locations and removes outdated ones.
  • Assists in the annual physical inventory process.
  • Completes transactions related to inventory control processes.
  • Engages in receiving, stocking, shipping, and other warehouse operations as required.
  • Operates material handling equipment, including forklifts and specialized machinery.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Proficiency in general computer skills; familiarity with Excel is advantageous.
  • Capability to generate and analyze inventory reports effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret parts from technical drawings.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments.
  • Completion of required training for handling hazardous materials.
  • Certification in operating forklifts and specialized equipment is necessary.
  • Flexibility to adapt to other roles as business needs arise.

Reporting Structure:

  • This position does not have direct reports.
