Job OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining precise inventory levels through the processes of receiving, storing, distributing, and conducting cycle counts. This role collaborates closely with management, procurement teams, and technical personnel to ensure the accuracy of parts. Effective communication with clients is essential to provide timely delivery of required materials.

WORK SCHEDULE

Standard hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive incoming materials, confirming the accuracy of parts, quantities, and quality.
  • Organize materials in suitable locations, taking into account size and safety considerations.
  • Distribute materials requested by clients and ensure delivery to the production area.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and investigate any discrepancies in inventory.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to address any discrepancies in received materials.
  • Return unused materials from clients back into inventory and storage.
  • Work in conjunction with clients and procurement to manage the processing and shipping of repair and warranty items.
  • Facilitate the transfer and shipping of materials to other company locations.
  • Uphold a safe and tidy working environment.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic proficiency in mathematics, computer usage, and communication skills is required.
  • Experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) or inventory management is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must be covered by the employer's insurance.
  • Forklift operation training is necessary.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain necessary documentation for daily operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position frequently requires standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee may need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role may involve lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • A chauffeur's license and a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical are necessary.
  • At least one year of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
