Position Summary:

In alignment with its commitment to innovation and excellence, Parker is in the process of developing a new 30,000 square foot gymnasium, featuring 1,100 bleacher seats, locker rooms, offices, and additional facilities, alongside a 7,350 square foot heated pool. To support the Athletics and Physical Education Department, Parker is seeking an Athletics Maintenance Lead to provide dedicated facilities management. This role will report to the Director of Maintenance for the Linda Vista Campus and collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics and their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of all athletic facilities, including fields, gyms, weight rooms, lockers, and storage areas, while serving as the primary contact for external preventative maintenance services.
  • Conduct regular inspections with Athletics and Physical Education staff to ensure facilities and equipment are safe and operational.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of athletic facilities, including turf management, gym floor maintenance, and locker room organization.
  • Ensure custodial services meet expectations, focusing on the cleanliness of weight rooms, lockers, and restrooms.
  • Coordinate with custodial service providers to address issues and arrange additional services as needed.
  • Prepare athletic facilities for use in sports and physical education programs, ensuring organization and readiness.
  • Manage repairs and replacements of facility items, including ordering necessary supplies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues with athletic systems, such as scoreboards and lighting.
  • Schedule and oversee necessary maintenance or repairs by external contractors.
  • Maintain landscaping around athletic fields and designated areas.
  • Support the preparation of athletic surfaces for various sports seasons.
  • Assist with pool maintenance and operations as required.
  • Collaborate with Athletics and Maintenance Departments to prioritize facility improvement projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma; post-secondary training in a relevant trade is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in an educational environment.
  • Basic understanding of building systems, with specific knowledge of athletic facilities being advantageous.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing and painting.
  • Proven experience in planning and overseeing work performed by external contractors.
  • Proficient in operating various maintenance equipment safely.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting and climbing.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in email and familiar with word processing or spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and use of protective equipment.
