About the Role

Habitat for Neighborhood Business is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our organization's growth and expansion. As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for driving our mission to revitalize underserved neighborhoods through business activity, job growth, and role models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Provide strategic input and lead the design and management of HNB operations, ensuring seamless execution and efficiency.
  • Affiliate Development: Collaborate with the HNB team to identify and onboard new affiliates, maintain relationships with current and future affiliate staff and programs, and foster a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with board-defined check writing authority.
  • Program Expansion: Develop and maintain strong connections with stakeholders to ensure HNB's leadership remains effectively connected and informed, driving program growth and expansion.
  • Fundraising and Development: Elevate and expand HNB's fundraising efforts, including private and corporate contributions, grant proposals, and donor engagement, to secure the necessary resources for organizational growth.
  • Virtual Program Development: Assist in the development of the new HNB Virtual Program, leveraging technology to enhance program delivery and reach.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the board, including preparing and distributing meeting announcements, Board Meeting minutes, and action items.
  • Board Support: Maintain regular contact with board members, assist members willing to actively participate in areas of expertise, and oversee board membership and terms.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated success in being self-motivated and able to perform with minimal direct oversight.
  • Strong and persuasive written and verbal communication skills, public speaking, meeting participation, and leadership.
  • Marketing, fundraising, and/or public relations experience with ability to engage and work effectively in collaboration with other organizations and a diverse group of people.
  • Entrepreneurial experiences, including operating or managing a business or non-profit, experience training/facilitating, and/or consulting experience with a preference for medium or small entities.
Work Environment
  • Full-time position
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Ability to commute to Saint Louis, MO required
