This pivotal role focuses on recognizing safety trends and crafting effective programs and tools to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. A significant aspect of this position involves delivering on-site training through a deep understanding of safety protocols, operational practices, and regulatory mandates, paired with exceptional communication abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with the Director of Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Compliance to develop recognition programs and assess behavior modifiers for delivery specialists, incorporating both incentives and disincentives.

Engage with regional distribution center managers and store management teams, supplying localized data for tailored communications. Equip teams with essential information and ensure that safety programs and compliance assessments are integral to all visits.

Conduct visits to distribution centers and stores for training, quality assurance, and program validation.

Ensure visits to each distribution center occur at least twice annually, with additional focus on those with higher incident rates.

Perform site-specific risk assessments during each visit, addressing both distribution centers and retail locations.

Develop actionable plans with management to tackle identified issues and monitor progress.

Guarantee compliance with all new team member safety orientations and training completions for all relevant functions.

Evaluate workplace practices, usage of personal protective equipment, and freight handling procedures.

Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to discussions with management as necessary.

Verify adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements across distribution centers and stores.

Act as a resource for fire safety and hazardous materials storage.

Review waste management processes and provide guidance on compliance issues.
