Site Safety Manager

Position Overview:

The Site Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to all safety and environmental protocols, contributing to the establishment of a secure working environment for all personnel. This role involves identifying, mitigating, and managing hazardous conditions on-site that could result in injury or property damage by applying industry-specific safety standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, Customer/Site Safety Manual, Company Safety Handbook, MSHA, and DOT requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety rules and procedures among all site managers.
  • Promote safe and healthy working conditions and maintain good housekeeping practices in the workplace.
  • Monitor adherence to safety regulations and safe practices by all employees.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety method statements, including necessary control measures.
  • Advise the Corporate Safety Director on compliance issues and preventive strategies.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering safety training sessions and maintain training documentation.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and surveys, preparing detailed reports of findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, compile reports, and suggest preventive measures to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with medical personnel to coordinate emergency medical services for injured employees.
  • Support the management of insurance claims.
  • Organize safety awareness initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, including state health departments and OSHA representatives.
  • Stay informed about advancements in health and safety practices that could be applicable to company operations.
  • Keep updated on local and state safety legislation that may impact the organization.
  • Embody and promote the company’s commitment to excellence through core values centered on customers, employees, character, and mastery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA instructor certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Self-driven with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Capacity to work independently without supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
