Job Summary

Tuvli, an Akima company, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Expert Analyst to support our DoS client located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for international science, technology, or innovation engagements.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of emerging and evolving economic or national security threats that compromise American science and technology engagement.
  • Identify and assess international S&T capabilities in key advanced or emerging technology areas and partnership opportunities in countries that share our values.
  • Review and draft emerging technology trend assessments to inform STC STI policy priorities.
  • Collaborate with Embassies and Desks, as well as other elements of OES and the interagency, to develop and implement engagement plans.
  • Provide support to OES and department officials participating in international STI-related meetings and events.
  • Maintain regular interactions with contacts and establish a wide array of contacts to become a resource on country or topic-specific science, technology, or innovation engagements.
Qualifications
  • Experience with US foreign affairs/policy, especially pertaining to STI.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the academic, private, and/or federal sectors.
  • Technical expertise and/or education in an advanced or emerging technology area, such as quantum information systems, biotechnology, or artificial intelligence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain liaison with officials.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including follow-up on pending tasks.
  • Ability to operate significantly under own initiative and as part of a team, crafting proposals and recommending effective approaches to tasks with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information derived from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments with tight deadlines that often require coordination with other organizations.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with the Department of State policies and procedures.
