Position Summary

We are looking for dedicated candidates for the role of Activities Assistant / Passenger Vehicle Operator at the Eastern Loudoun Adult Day Center. Under the guidance of the designated supervisor, this role involves supporting participants at the adult day center. Responsibilities include leading various programs, such as crafts, exercise, cognitive and physical games, and field trips for groups of varying sizes. Additionally, the role entails assisting clients with daily living activities, including dressing, hygiene, and mobility, as well as providing support during special events and transporting clients safely. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a commitment to excellent customer service in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate client participation in activities designed for both small and large groups.
  • Develop program initiatives based on resource evaluations and client feedback, collaborating with staff to create new concepts.
  • Assist clients in managing daily living activities.
  • Support program activities and special events at the center.
  • Provide assistance to clients experiencing health issues or accidents, adhering to established first aid protocols.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information in all communications.
  • Safely transport clients and ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Perform other essential duties as required by the role and department.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience working directly with older adults.
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant or Personal Care Aide.
  • ServSafe certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of criminal and DMV background checks, as well as a pre-employment drug screening.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory, subject to annual review.
  • Within three months of employment, candidates must obtain a CDL (Class C with Passenger endorsement) learner's permit, with a full license required within six months.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
  • OSHA training regarding bloodborne pathogens is required within 30 days of employment.
  • Completion of mandated training, including e-learning and the MOAT program, is required.
  • A Sworn Disclosure Statement must be provided prior to hire.
  • A TB test is required within specified timeframes relative to hire.
  • Completion of the PCA (Personal Care Assistant) course within 60 days of hire is necessary.
  • Annual DSS-required training must be completed.
