Position Summary

We are in search of skilled Community Recreation Facilitators to engage in impactful work that connects our communities through innovative programming and enriching learning opportunities. Facilitators will lead activities in areas such as arts and crafts, music, dance, culinary arts, sports, camps, wellness, STEM, and various recreational programs. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication and organizational abilities. PRCS serves a diverse demographic, including youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.


We are currently recruiting for various divisions/program areas throughout Loudoun County, including:

  • Sports
  • Parks
  • Franklin Park Arts Center
  • Senior Centers & Adult Centers
  • Community Centers
  • Adaptive Recreation (for individuals with disabilities)
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspire class participants while adhering to center policies and procedures during sessions.
  • Prepare for classes in advance, including the setup and breakdown of equipment and materials.
  • Guide and supervise participants during classes, demonstrating proper techniques, equipment usage, and adjustments based on individual skill levels.
  • Complete all administrative tasks related to the development, planning, and execution of classes.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for participants, staff, and fellow instructors before, during, and after classes.
  • Actively promote and attract new participants for all classes while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and trends relevant to the subject matter.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and all participants.
  • Engage in monthly meetings, events, and training sessions.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities related to the role.

Work schedules are flexible and may include morning, evening, and weekend hours, varying based on client needs, center operations, and holiday requirements.

Qualifications

Completion of 8th grade is required.
Must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Six (6) months of experience in teaching relevant subject matter classes.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
