Position Summary:

As a Business Analyst and Product Owner, you will be an integral part of an agile software development team focused on enhancing our global customs software through SAFe Lean-Agile methodologies. In this role, you will act as the business representative, collaborating with Product Management to prioritize and clarify the team's tasks. You will work closely with leadership to establish a clear vision for the team's objectives and ensure accountability to both technical and business stakeholders, ultimately delivering exceptional customer value.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being an active, visible member of the team, participating in all meetings and ceremonies.
  • Building, refining, and prioritizing the team backlog in line with the program vision.
  • Setting specific objectives for each Sprint and Program Increment (PI).
  • Creating detailed requirements that align with stakeholder needs.
  • Formulating and executing tactical plans to meet both short- and long-term goals.
  • Defining acceptance criteria for stories and managing the team backlog.
  • Collaborating with Product Managers and other Product Owners to understand business contexts and define features.
  • Representing the team in Product Owner meetings and relaying relevant information back to the team.
  • Engaging in team demos, reviews, and retrospectives with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Preparing for Program activities such as PI Planning and System Demos.
  • Bridging the gap between the development team and business stakeholders to clarify complex requirements.
  • Analyzing and breaking down intricate business requirements to enhance software systems and influence design for scalability.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in software business analysis or equivalent operational experience in logistics or brokerage.
  • Ability to define functional and non-functional acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other agile methodologies.
  • Certification or willingness to become certified as a SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Proficient in navigating ambiguity and guiding diverse teams toward clarity.
  • Ability to translate concepts and ideas into actionable deliverables.
  • Expertise in process creation, analysis, and improvement.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in system or data analysis.
  • Knowledge of UML or similar concepts to effectively communicate business requirements.
  • Familiarity with Office 2013 or later, Azure Dev Ops, and SharePoint.
  • Understanding of Kafka, GraphQL, and cloud technologies.
  • A passion for technology and innovation.
  • Experience in the logistics, brokerage, or transportation sectors.
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Reference Data and Data Governance products.
