Role Overview:

The Investment Accounting & Reporting division is tasked with the coordination of reporting and analysis of investment outcomes. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including the reporting of investments within NY Life's portfolios on a statutory basis, financial performance analysis, and the application of investment accounting policies. The position ensures that all pertinent reporting is accurate and adheres to both internal and external accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, the role provides financial analysis that elucidates and supports the reported outcomes.

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare, analyze, and review financial reporting outputs for NY Life's Investment portfolio, including reports for Senior Management, Investment Committees, Statutory Blue Books, and Statutory Notes/Disclosures.
  • Oversee daily responsibilities, conduct self-reviews, and communicate progress effectively to management.
  • Review financial reports for internal stakeholders (Controller, CFO, Business Units, and Investment Committee) and external clients (Regulatory).
  • Proactively assist the team in various capacities, including supporting senior associates/managers with projects or ad-hoc tasks and providing assistance to offshore teams.
  • Coordinate with shared services for the preparation and delivery of investment-related data.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX by developing, documenting, testing, and reviewing controls and procedures.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Investment Accounting Policies in line with statutory standards and regulations.
What You'll Bring:

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a high-output environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist others. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt priorities as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SAP/Sharepoint is preferred.
Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $77,500-$132,500

Overtime eligible: Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on various factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in an incentive program.
