About the Role

As an Advanced Manufacturing Technician at GE HealthCare, you will play a key role in leading projects that focus on designing and developing fixed and collaborative automation systems to enhance manufacturing operations and eliminate non-value added work for MR RF Coil product lines.

You will be part of our new product introduction projects (NPI's) to influence product design and incorporate design for automation standards, resulting in flexible and smart-cost solutions for initial production releases.

This is a hands-on role that enables you to work on the interface between manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing engineering, and research and development with complex products.

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Help identify high ROI applications, design and conduct feasibility studies, and support the local team to deploy automation into production.
  • Automation Solutions: Apply creative solutions and ideas to drive productivity and quality in manufacturing, utilizing LEAN methodology, novel fixturing, key automation technologies, and integration of PLC's, HMI's, Motion.
  • Manufacturing Execution: Manufacture solutions using machining equipment and collaborate with vendors on machine builds.
  • Brilliant Factory Initiatives: Support our initiatives by connecting physical processes with digital information.
  • Standardization: Create standard automation Equipment/User Requirement Specifications to drive component standardization, data standards for brilliant factories, and standard safety risk assessments.
  • Supplier Management: Leverage and project manage outside suppliers to deliver automation solutions in our manufacturing plant, setting a standard for other ultrasound manufacturing plants.
  • Project Management: Lead a project team in a matrix organization.
Qualifications
  • Technical Education: Technical education in automation technology, electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, computer sciences, or similar. Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree plus 2 years of experience or High School Diploma and 4 years of experience.
  • Automation Knowledge: Knowledge in software development for automation technology (PLC, HMI - using high-level languages, e.g. ST, C).
  • CNC Machinist Skills: Proven CNC Machinist / General Machinist Skills.
  • Electrical Experience: Experience with controls, electrical schematics, and panel builds.
  • Mechanical Design: Seasoned mechanical & electrical design experience using CAD and 3D software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo.
  • Additive Manufacturing: Experience with additive manufacturing and 3D printing of parts and fixtures.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Experience with equipment repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
