Leadership

The Senior Assistant Store Manager is responsible for leading the store team to achieve sales goals, meet merchandising standards, and deliver operational excellence. This includes:

  • Recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining a high-performing store team.
  • Teaching, training, and coaching the Assistant Store Managers and team through successful completion of Division of Responsibilities (DOR) to develop future leaders for the company.
  • Recognizing and properly resolving teammate performance issues; communicating high-priority issues to the Store Manager in a timely manner and collaborating to develop a plan for resolution to minimize risk.
  • Supporting the mid-year and annual review process for all teammates by providing feedback on teammates' performance to the Store Manager.
  • Proactively networking and recruiting to support stores' staffing needs.
  • Driving teammate engagement by recognizing and rewarding teammates for their outstanding performance.
  • Ensuring that teammates adhere to and enforce all employment practices and policies.

Operations

The Senior Assistant Store Manager is responsible for maintaining Under Armour brand standards of neat, clean, and organized sales floor, cash wrap, and fitting room, ensuring the store environment is safe for teammates and athletes. This includes:

  • Maintaining Under Armour brand standards of neat, clean, and organized sales floor, cash wrap, and fitting room.
  • Supporting/leading the efficient and productive handling of all merchandise, including shipment receipt and processing, floorsets, markdown optimization, and replenishment systems, while maintaining backroom standards.
  • Analyzing reporting and daily sales trends to make real-time strategic business decisions to drive results.
  • Effective use of technology to enhance athlete engagement and drive KPIs.
  • Contributing to the management of expense and operational costs.
  • Supporting our Connected Fitness efforts by promoting our Apps and Social campaigns and athlete contests as appropriate.

Merchandising

The Senior Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting/leading all visual directives, ensuring mapping and floorset are properly planned and executed seamlessly within the allotted timeframe. This includes:

  • Analyzing merchandise reports and directing brand-appropriate merchandising moves to maximize presentation and drive sales.

  • Performing level-sets and ensuring the store is replenished by pushing all goods to the floor.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, provide feedback, and manage substandard performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to perform Essential Job Functions.

Education and/or Experience

Minimum high school education or equivalent.

Minimum of 2-3 years of retail or equivalent management experience preferred.
