Position Overview

The Licensing Program Manager I (LPM I) operates under the guidance of a Licensing Program Manager II within the Department of Social Services. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing the performance of a team of Licensing Program Analysts. Key responsibilities include conducting quality assurance assessments, organizing and facilitating training sessions for both individuals and groups, and reviewing the outcomes of complaint investigations.

The LPM I will also provide technical support and supervisory guidance both in the office and in the field. Additionally, this position entails the review of monthly intake and production reports, acting as a representative of the Division in collaborations with other agencies, and participating in the recruitment and hiring processes for new personnel.

Essential Duties

  • Monitor and supervise the activities of Licensing Program Analysts.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Plan and execute training programs for staff development.
  • Review and analyze complaint investigations.
  • Offer technical direction and support in various settings.
  • Evaluate monthly performance reports and metrics.
  • Engage with facility representatives and recommend necessary administrative actions.

Working Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with potential for occasional telecommuting. The role requires extensive use of a computer, involving prolonged periods of sitting, with opportunities for brief periods of walking or standing. Attendance at meetings, workshops, and training sessions is expected.

Qualifications

Additional Information

This position requires fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice. Candidates must provide a complete employment history on the application form. Those meeting minimum qualifications with educational credentials must include unofficial transcripts for verification.

Training and Development assignments may be available based on eligibility and approval by the Hiring Authority. Candidates residing outside the state may be considered for interviews but must provide proof of California residency prior to appointment.
