Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Childcare Lead Teacher to join our team at the Keene Family YMCA. As a key member of our childcare program, you will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for children, while implementing a high-quality curriculum that promotes their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with the YMCA's curriculum guidelines and promote age-appropriate learning.
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff, while maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Supervise and engage children in activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Conduct regular observations and evaluations of children's progress, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, while adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law; 18 ECE Credits.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A certificate in DEI or extensive training and work experience.
  • An associate degree or higher in ECE or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
