Regulatory Compliance Engineer

As a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, corporate standards, and operational procedures. Your responsibilities will encompass the creation of essential documentation, strategic planning, and conducting regular evaluations. You will lead all activities related to certification, including the management of testing fixtures, organization of reports, and upkeep of the technical documentation for our products.
Key Responsibilities- Support the certification process for product development initiatives from inception through to post-launch with a proactive and efficient approach.
- Serve as the primary contact for all inspections and ongoing compliance activities.
- Establish and uphold product standards in accordance with internal safety protocols.
- Conduct research to stay informed about the latest compliance regulations and relay their implications to relevant internal teams.
- Evaluate or test products during the design phase to identify compliance issues or breaches, including formulating detailed test plans to meet product specifications.
- Oversee the management of processes, timelines, budgets, and workloads associated with compliance and performance tasks; provide guidance and support to team members.
- Define the scope of projects, develop initial test plans, and outline specifications such as costs, timelines, and sample requirements.
- Execute in-house testing throughout the development cycle, including thermal and ground-bonding tests.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Discipline, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in product certification, particularly in LED lighting, with a comprehensive understanding of North American UL and European EN/IEC lighting standards.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant lighting standards in the US and Europe, including UL2108, UL1598, UL8750, JA-8, Title 24, EN 61347, EN 60598, EN 61558, EN 55015, and CISPR 15.
- Strong communication and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, as you will represent our team to certifying bodies and clients seeking information regarding our product certifications.
