Position Overview:

Barton & Loguidice is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Resident Engineer (NICET IV) to support various transportation initiatives. This position involves oversight and evaluation of construction activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough inspections and maintain documentation of daily construction operations.
  • Prepare daily logs, inspection reports, and weekly progress summaries.
  • Measure and record quantities of materials utilized and work completed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly payment requests.
  • Review and assess claims for additional work and change order expenses.
  • Facilitate coordination among utilities and stakeholders.
  • Interpret and clarify contract plans and specifications.
  • Support collaboration between project owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in highway, bridge, paving, and drainage inspections. Familiarity with NYSDOT specifications and MURK procedures is essential. Proficiency in basic computer skills is required to effectively utilize construction management software. Retirees from Public Works, NYS Thruway, and DOT are encouraged to consider this opportunity.


Compensation:

The estimated pay range for this position is $45-60 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, geographical location, market conditions, education, certifications, and other applicable skills.
