As a dedicated Production Engineering Specialist, you will implement a systematic approach and lead initiatives for change management. This role is essential in guaranteeing the long-term dependability, cost-efficiency, and compliance of our lighting solutions. You will support our continuous manufacturing efforts, concentrating on post-product development akin to sustaining engineering functions, and collaborate closely with diverse teams to uphold the superior standards of our product offerings. The ideal candidate will possess a robust engineering background, an analytical mindset, and a commitment to ongoing enhancement.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee and improve the performance and reliability of existing products. Address and resolve challenges related to product design, manufacturing processes, and material quality to extend product lifespan and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manufacturing Support: Partner with the manufacturing team to enhance production processes and troubleshoot issues on the shop floor. Develop and implement testing protocols that ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancements. Implement changes that elevate product quality, reduce production costs, and improve product performance.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards, including safety and environmental guidelines. Prepare and update necessary documentation for product certifications and compliance audits.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to coordinate and communicate changes and improvements. Support teams in ensuring that designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
  • Technical Expertise and Guidance: Act as a technical authority within the engineering team, providing insights and guidance on best practices in product sustainability and reliability. Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 4-7 years of experience in Sustaining Engineering activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electromechanical, or other technical/analytical fields.
  • Experience in the lighting industry, including familiarity with LEDs, PCBs, Drivers, Compliance (UL standards), Control Systems, and thermal management simulation and testing.
  • Advanced CAD skills, preferably in Onshape, Solidworks, or similar software.
  • In-depth knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing processes (die-casting, extrusion, injection molding, etc.) and surface treatments (powder coating, anodizing, etc.).
  • Proficiency in utilizing hardware lab equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues affecting product sustainability and to make informed decisions on product enhancements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and documentation of processes and improvements.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage processes, timelines, and workloads for multiple projects.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, take initiative, and embrace challenges.
