Role Summary

As a Water Service Technician, you will engage in a variety of field-related tasks concerning water services and metering apparatus. Key responsibilities include managing service activations and deactivations, maintaining metering systems, addressing water quality inquiries, and responding to urgent water-related incidents. The successful candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation and excel in collaborative settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently complete designated service work orders with precision.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of water meters and associated equipment.
  • Execute repairs or replacements of meters and equipment as necessary.
  • Perform water flow assessments and investigate customer concerns.
  • Ensure meter boxes are well-maintained and rectify any issues promptly.
  • Address water emergencies and communicate findings in a timely manner.
  • Engage effectively with customers and internal teams.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Familiarity with water utility operations and principles of customer service.
  • Strong communication capabilities.
  • Proficiency in reading maps and following detailed instructions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships.

Physical Requirements: This role involves light physical work with various demands.

Work Environment: The position requires adaptability to a dynamic work setting, including outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience, ideally in customer service and water utility operations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Preferred: AWWA Meter Technician Certification.
Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $46,200.00.
