Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power lines and systems.
  • Support the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of distribution utility power lines.
  • Engage in service calls related to power outages and electrical malfunctions.
  • Receive thorough training in both classroom and field settings to advance to higher skill levels.
  • Operate machinery, utilize hand tools, and perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Ensure vehicles are adequately equipped for emergency responses.
  • May work non-standard hours and in various locations, including during emergencies and recovery operations.
  • Perform tasks related to the installation of underground power supply systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to operate various vehicles and equipment assigned to the line crew.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including holidays and weekends, as well as on-call shifts.
  • Must meet weight restrictions for work vehicles as specified by the manufacturer.

Education & Experience:

  • Previous experience in the electrical powerline sector.
  • Ability to provide proof of work experience, education, and relevant certifications.

Pre-Employment Screening:

  • Candidates may be required to complete pre-employment screenings, including drug tests and background checks, upon receiving an offer.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License required; willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days is preferred.

Travel Expectations:

  • Willingness to travel out of state for emergency response work.

Physical Demands:

  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Sitting, Kneeling, and Crawling
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Stooping, Squatting, Climbing, Reading, etc.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, Walking, Lifting, Balancing, etc.

Given the nature of the work, employees must possess the ability to work safely around hazardous equipment, maintain focus for extended periods, and adapt to various environmental conditions. Safety and attention to detail are critical in all job functions.
