Overview

The Parking Operations Associate is responsible for ensuring cleanliness and organization in both public and private parking facilities at the Airport by executing the following tasks:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responds to notifications regarding malfunctioning equipment and performs minor repairs and maintenance as needed.

2. Replenishes ticket stock as required.

3. Ensures parking lots and surrounding areas remain free of litter and debris, including regular emptying of trash bins and ashtrays.

4. Conducts janitorial duties within parking lots and structures, such as changing light bulbs, spot cleaning stains, sanitizing stainless steel surfaces, and vacuuming staircases.

5. Cleans Smart Cart dispensers.

6. Clears walkways of snow and ice.

7. Provides assistance to passengers as necessary.

8. Maintains a friendly and approachable demeanor.

9. Oversees general maintenance and upkeep of the E-Lot Comfort Station and bus shelters.

10. Washes and sanitizes bus shelters as required.

11. Aids construction activities by offering traffic control and passenger assistance.

12. Operates maintenance equipment in parking areas and along curbs and commercial lanes.

13. Maintains landscaped areas near the collector building, toll booths, and all parking facilities.

14. Participates in Total Quality Management initiatives.

15. Cleans, washes, and waxes the exterior of all buses.

16. Cleans, shampoos, vacuums, and treats bus interiors.

17. Fuels buses daily (non-CDL buses unless qualified with a CDL).

18. Manages fueling and cleaning supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED. Previous experience in general maintenance is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. Ability to articulate and construct sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations. Proficiency in handling American currency is required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided orally or in writing. Ability to address problems involving variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver's license as a condition of employment. May be required to obtain a CDL.
