Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

Job Overview:
UPS is in search of a dedicated Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to become a vital part of our exceptional fleet maintenance team.
This role involves the upkeep of a wide array of machinery, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from multiple manufacturers.
The propulsion systems of these vehicles may include diesel, gasoline, and alternative energy sources (such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric options in select locations).
Vehicle Maintenance Specialists should possess expertise in diagnosing and servicing various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine management.

Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to D.O.T regulations as dictated by job responsibilities
Engage in physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning frequently throughout the workday
Occasionally sit as needed during the workday
Utilize hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine manipulation, and reach from foot level to above shoulder level to complete assigned tasks
Operate both standard and manual transmission vehicles
Utilize power and pneumatic tools effectively
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Documented experience in automotive mechanics
Proficient in using diagnostic tools, scan devices, and personal computers
Possess a complete set of personal hand tools
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred
Willingness to travel is required
Ability to work full-time shifts: 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per week
Dependable with a consistent ability to report to work punctually and complete the scheduled workday
Available for varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime as needed
Wear personal protective equipment as necessary
Work in environments with fluctuating temperatures and humidity, exposure to cleaning agents, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, as well as outdoor weather conditions.
Collaborate effectively in a diverse workplaceCommunicate efficiently through sight, hearing, and other means to perform assigned tasks and uphold safety standards
