Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our revenue and non-revenue fleets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Assign work to and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure that preventive maintenance, inspections, overhauls, servicing, and repairs are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Serve as the first line quality assurance specialist to ensure that repairs are performed correctly and completely, and that all test, metering, and diagnostic equipment is used properly.
  • Training and Development: Routinely instruct employees in techniques and processes, and provide direct technical assistance as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Responsible for maintenance and property accountability for Authority shop and fixed asset equipment within work areas, and order routine expendable bench stock and supplies as necessary.
  • Disciplinary Action: Enforce the labor contract and take disciplinary action as needed.
  • Business Operations: Carry out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business, and perform work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate degree in Mechanics or related field, and four years' experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment powered by diesel or natural gas.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of light wheeled (utility/non-revenue) gasoline, diesel, and natural gas-powered vehicles, automated maintenance management systems, and automated inventory control systems.
  • Communication Skills: Good oral and written communications skills, and familiarity with desktop computers and standard operating programs.
Working Conditions

This position has been identified as SAFETY SENSITIVE. Participation in MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program is a condition of employment. Failure to adhere to MARTA's Drug & Alcohol Program will result in termination.

Classification and Salary

This is a Non-Represented position with a salary range of $51,516 - $77,274.
