Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our research in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) display hardware. The successful candidate will work closely with our optics and materials team to setup and align optical components, evaluate image quality, and program and debug microdisplay panel drivers.

Responsibilities
  • Setup and align optical components for AR/VR display hardware research
  • Evaluate image quality and identify sub-micron size features using digital microscopes
  • Program and debug microdisplay panel drivers for demo system maintenance and bug fixing
  • Communicate complex ideas and testing results effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Provide general lab support to optics and materials team
Qualifications
  • BS degree in engineering from a major university
  • Passion to learn and explore latest technologies in displays and metaverse
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows operation system and Office 365 suits
  • Willing to learn programming languages: Python, Matlab, and/or image analysis software
  • Hands-on experience with optical system setup, alignment, and optical characterization is a plus
  • Deep understanding of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
