Job Overview

This role is pivotal in supporting the financial operations of Park Aerospace Corp. and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while also collaborating closely with the President/COO.

The Financial Controller is responsible for delivering critical financial insights to senior management. Under the guidance of the CFO, this individual will manage all aspects related to financial operations, which encompass accounts receivable and payable, production costs, inventory management, billing processes, collections, payroll, and auditing functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead the training and supervision of the finance department staff.
  • Develop and implement effective systems, policies, and procedures for financial transactions.
  • Ensure the financial system operates efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managerial accounting within a manufacturing context.
  • Proficient in cost accounting practices.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking operations.
  • Proven track record in establishing and maintaining robust internal controls.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong work ethic.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial information.
  • Ability to assess situations quickly and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficient in accounting software, with experience in Oracle being advantageous, as well as spreadsheet and word processing applications.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with five to seven years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong background in cost management and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing or public accounting is essential.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to see (correctable) and communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms. The role may involve lifting products or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Mobility is required, including bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.

Training Requirements

  • Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
