Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the month-end closing process, financial operations, and the management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities on a daily basis.
This position is tasked with innovating and identifying improved methods to develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures for financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the financial system in compliance with professional accounting standards, governmental regulations, and the policies of Park Aerospace Corporation.
Additionally, the Accounting Manager will engage in various special projects and prepare diverse reports, which may include support for acquisitions and business units as required.
Key Responsibilities1. Collaborate with the Controller to manage daily banking operations.
2. Ensure the precise and timely execution of positive pay transactions.
3. Oversee the monthly physical inventory process.
4. Work alongside the Controller to facilitate clean and timely audits.
5. Guarantee that monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are executed accurately and punctually.
6. Act as a change agent by evaluating and enhancing departmental workflows to promote efficiency while maintaining high accuracy levels.
7. Resolve issues with accounting staff and other departments regarding non-routine transactions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying insights, and making recommendations to operational challenges.
9. Review and prepare account reconciliations for the organization.
10. Collaborate proactively with the Controller on various consolidated internal reporting schedules on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
11. Maintain a global database of customer credit information to identify potential changes in credit exposure and monitor accounts receivable aging against established credit limits.12. Lead and develop an accounting team of three, promoting the Park Aerospace Niche Culture.
13. Provide comprehensive training to both new and existing staff as necessary.
14. Manage all personnel-related matters concerning the team.
15. Work with each direct report to set annual goals and objectives, monitoring and advising on their progress to foster professional development.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
2. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Physical Requirements
This role necessitates normal dexterity, speech, and hearing capabilities. Specific vision abilities required for this position include frequent use of a computer monitor.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Training Requirements
1. Hazard Communication Training.
2. Training on applicable procedures related to the area of responsibility.
