Role Overview:
The CEO holds the pivotal role of steering the Association's strategic vision, ensuring financial health, fostering community engagement, nurturing staff development, and overseeing program and facility operations, as well as communication and technology frameworks.
The CEO is also tasked with upholding YMCA best practices through adherence to the policies, directives, and guidelines established by the Board of Directors.
Reporting Structure:
Directly accountable to the YMCA Board of Directors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees the Director of Operations, Director of Finance & HR, Director of Childcare, and Director of Building & Property.
Indirect Oversight:
Supervises the Director of Youth & Adult Sports, Director of Aquatic Programs, and Director of Fitness Programs.
Acts as a key liaison to the community, local businesses, and state and federal YMCA Affiliations.
Organizational Connections:
Direct liaison to the local board of directors and staff.
Serves as the local contact for community, businesses, and organizations.
Acts as the state and federal liaison to other YMCA Associations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations effectively.
Provide Leadership and Direction in:
Strategic Vision:
In collaboration with the board of directors, establish the organization's policies, objectives, and strategic direction. Implement policies, plans, and directives, while reporting on matters impacting the welfare of the association.
Direct the strategic plan and ensure the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
Introduce technological advancements, budget management, and information systems management to the Association.
Understand policy formulation, processes, and board development.
Guide the Association through transformative growth and success.
Maintain a deep understanding of the principles of administration within a non-profit membership organization dedicated to community service.
Ensure sound fiscal management, reporting, and controls. Supervise financial operations.
Provide a robust foundation in financial development, annual support, and capital campaigns, including:
Lead the annual budgeting and planning process, recommend the annual budget for board approval, monitor progress, and keep the management team informed of the organization's financial health.
Support the annual campaign drive.
Oversee organizational cash flow and forecasting.
Effectively communicate and present critical financial issues to the Board of Directors.
Assist in coordinating the annual audit process.
Collaborate closely with investment brokers to ensure endowments meet or exceed board expectations.
Community Engagement:
Act as the bridge between the business community and the YMCA, fostering relationships and financial support with business professionals, members, volunteers, and staff.
Interpret the mission, vision, and goals of the Association, translating them into impactful community relationships.
Staffing and Resources:
Foster a culture of success by effectively leading, organizing, and overseeing a diverse team of skilled staff and volunteers.
Delegate responsibilities and assign tasks while implementing efficient administrative procedures to ensure smooth operations.
YMCA Overview:
Membership: 1,600 units and 3,300 members
Facility: 63,000 sq. ft. including a 25-meter swimming pool, two large gymnasiums, weight room, cardio room, and locker rooms.
Programs:
Offering a high-quality childcare center, swim lessons, youth and adult sports, fitness classes, personal training, community events, and more.
Operations:
Annual budget of $2,300,000, comprised of 45% childcare, 30% membership, 5% programs, and 20% philanthropy.
Endowment:
$6,500,000
Current Projects:
Engaged in a comprehensive capital campaign for a significant expansion, which will include additional sports facilities and childcare rooms.
Job Type:
Full-time
Compensation:
$150,000.00 annually
