Title: Chief Financial Officer
Overview:
The Chief Financial Officer is a pivotal member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the College President. This role is essential for safeguarding the financial health of the institution, ensuring that both immediate and future financial strategies are effectively implemented, and that fiscal policies align with the college's overarching goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the president to develop and sustain long-term financial projections for the college.
- Keep abreast of both internal and external financial trends and operational changes.
- Support the achievement of strategic goals through comprehensive financial analysis.
- Assess the financial implications of both instructional and non-instructional initiatives.
- Regularly communicate the financial status of the college to various stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation and management of the annual budget.
- Facilitate informed decision-making processes that impact financial planning.
- Lead the annual audit process and present the final audit report.
- Monitor cash flow and oversee investment strategies.
- Provide guidance on financial risks and expenditure controls.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards.
- Maintain professional relationships with officials and engage in legislative matters.
- Analyze and interpret data related to student services and academic programs.
- Coordinate the management of grants and the development of grant proposals.
- Engage in Foundation Board activities and act as a liaison for investments.
- Execute other relevant tasks as required.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Trustees.
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline is required.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a higher education business office.
- A collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in operational and strategic planning, policy formulation, and financial assessment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
