Job Overview


Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Accounting Manager is tasked with overseeing the month-end closing processes, financial operations, and managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting activities on a daily basis.

This role will focus on innovation, seeking new and improved methods to develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures for financial transactions, ensuring that the financial system operates accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with professional accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and Park Aerospace Corporation's policies.

Additionally, the Accounting Manager will engage in various special projects and generate a range of specialized reports, which may include support for acquisitions and business units as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Controller to manage daily banking operations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of positive pay transactions.
  • Oversee the monthly physical inventory process.
  • Assist the Controller in maintaining clean and timely audits.
  • Ensure that monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are executed accurately and punctually.


Act as a change agent by monitoring and analyzing departmental workflows to develop more efficient procedures and resource utilization while upholding a high level of accuracy.


Resolve issues with accounting staff and other departments regarding non-routine transactions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, applying insights, and providing recommendations for operational challenges.

  • Prepare weekly profit and loss reports.
  • Review and prepare account reconciliations for the organization.
  • Work closely with the Controller on various consolidated internal reporting schedules on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Coordinate with the Controller on internal financial reporting functions, including leading weekly profit and loss discussions.


Maintain and manage a global database of customer credit information to identify potential changes in credit exposure and monitor customer accounts receivable aging against established credit limits.


Lead and develop an accounting team of three, promoting the Park Aerospace Corporation's Niche Culture.

  • Provide effective training for new and existing staff as necessary.
  • Address all personnel matters related to team members.
  • Collaborate with each direct report to set annual goals and objectives, monitoring and advising on their progress to enhance professional development.


Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Physical Requirements

This position requires normal dexterity, speech, and hearing capabilities. Specific vision abilities necessary for this role include frequent use of a computer monitor.


Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Training Requirements

  • Hazard Communication Training.
  • Training on applicable procedures related to the area of responsibility.
