Tax and Audit Supervisor

Position Overview
Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a skilled Supervisor to become part of our dynamic organization. The Supervisor will oversee a range of tax, audit, and various assignments as directed by the Principal or Partner. This role requires a high degree of independence, with an emphasis on mentoring and guiding Staff and Senior Accountants, resolving issues autonomously, enhancing client relationships, and driving office profitability. Opportunities for remote or hybrid work arrangements may be available based on business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Take lead responsibility for client engagements, including planning, staffing, scheduling, technical matters, and decision-making. Ensure the successful completion of engagements by identifying and addressing challenges with minimal oversight.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of engagements.
- Mentor and supervise Supervisors, Senior Accountants, and Staff, providing guidance in technical areas, identifying growth opportunities, and fostering a respectful team environment.
- Perform annual performance evaluations for assigned personnel and manage discussions regarding employee performance.
- Collaborate with Principals and Partners to identify, engage with, and pursue potential new clients.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technical expertise into high-value services for clients.
- Enhance the Firm's reputation by participating in conferences, contributing to publications, attending recruitment events, and conducting training sessions for clients and staff.
- Foster collegial relationships with all Partners, employees, clients, and prospects to enhance the Novogradac brand.
- Build and strengthen client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Advance knowledge in the Firm's focus areas by seeking and completing relevant training.
- Contribute to office profitability by managing personal and team time efficiently, offering ideas, and adding value.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.

- Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple and shifting priorities.
- Open to constructive feedback from the Partner group and able to make necessary adjustments.
- Work collaboratively to promote a productive, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel) and report writing tools.
- Maintain professionalism in interactions with colleagues and clients.
- Earn the trust of the existing Partner group.
- Meet internal deadlines for time entry, billing, and other tasks.
- Availability for evening and weekend work as needed and willingness to travel domestically if required.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (an advanced degree is advantageous) and 5-8 years of experience in public accounting or a suitable combination of education and experience. A CPA license is mandatory.
Familiarity with any of the following areas is beneficial but not essential: Affordable Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Opportunity Zones (OZ), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), Historical Tax Credits (HTC), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Real Estate, Developers, Partnerships, Housing Authority (HA), Public Housing Authority, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), Community Development Entity Certification Applications (CDE), Property Compliance, Nonprofit, Single Audit, Uniform Guidance, A-133, Forecasting, Cost Segregation, Year 15 Exit, Tax-exempt bond and HOME programs.

- Compensation range: $115,000-$140,000 based on experience, with potential for higher compensation based on qualifications.
