About the Role

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for the financial strategy and success of J/PR, a global communications firm specializing in public relations, content creation, and social media. We work with some of the best hotels, resorts, and lifestyle brands in the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct the finance function, including cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
  • Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
  • Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives.
  • Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and rest of the company.
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.
  • Builds and maintains financial data models, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics to identify business trends and guide data-driven decision-making.
  • Delivers financial reporting and analysis to the CEO, strategic leadership group, and Board of Directors.
Accounting Duties
  • Lead and oversee the following: accounts receivable collections, bank & credit card reconciliations, maintaining orderly accounting filing system, reports to/for management, budget process, monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes, corporate tax reporting, local, state and federal government reporting requirements, and other duties as needed.
  • Intercompany account reconciliations, bank deposits, review and approve payroll & commission data.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
  • Working knowledge of how to raise capital outside traditional lines of credit.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and systems, payroll taxes, accounting methods and third-party reimbursement systems.
  • Oral Communication Skills & Responsiveness, Written Communication Skills, Interpersonal Communication Skills, Computer Literacy, Proficient in Excel, Organization, Reading Skills, Time Management, Bookkeeping Skills, QuickBooks Online Experience (required), Management Experience, Experience in Acquisitions and Mergers, Has experience working with several currencies including USD and GBP.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance and/or professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant).
  • International finance experience.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations.
