Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Security Systems Installer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining integrated security systems for our commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and program integrated security systems, including access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customers or our company.
  • Work safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, and loss of unused materials.
  • Adhere to safety standards and local and national codes, with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Maintain local and national fire/security industry certifications.
  • Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the work site, and engage in continuous proactive customer interactions.
  • Contact customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
  • Prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
  • Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring project execution per plan, and report problems or changes to supervisor or management.
  • Test the operation of the system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
  • Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and handle necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
  • Complete paperwork and on-site documentation as required.
  • Perform self-study (reading, research, and practice) to obtain technical proficiency on required products and application.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Home office will be Westbrook, Maine.
  • Must have State of Maine Master Limited Energy License.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of commercial installation experience.
  • Electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
  • Advanced computer skills required.
  • No fear of heights.
  • No color blindness.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, drive for extended periods of time.
  • Travel is required – MA, NH, and Maine – some overnight and weekends may be required with notice.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to explain technical information to non-technical people.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • A background check and pre-employment drug test is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET II Certification.
  • Access control certifications.
  • CCTV certifications.
  • Experience bending conduit.
  • Massachusetts Class D License.
