SUMMARY:
The Sprinkler Technician role at AAA Fire Protection Inc. involves servicing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing water-based sprinkler systems for both existing and new clients. This position adheres to the latest manufacturer guidelines, NFPA and DOT standards, as well as local codes. The technician will operate a company vehicle and manage scheduling and invoicing through designated software platforms, ensuring a professional and safe work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute both scheduled and unscheduled sprinkler service tasks and specialized testing as directed by the Service Coordinator or Sprinkler Service Division Superintendent, in line with manufacturer recommendations and local regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to fellow technicians within the division.
- Educate clients on local fire code requirements and the services, systems, and equipment for which you are licensed, aligning with the expectations set by the Superintendent.
- Establish and manage clear expectations with clients.
- Conduct site assessments to inform clients about the timing, delivery, and operational implications of proposed solutions.
- Procure and secure necessary products and parts prior to scheduled installation dates.
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of company tools and equipment.
- Understand and communicate other AAA service offerings, warranties, and product applications to enhance customer service.
- Record work hours using the company’s time and attendance software.
- Document all job-related notes, deficiencies, invoices, and compliance test reports in the designated software, utilizing company-provided hardware.
- Report any operational issues with the company vehicle immediately.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions or unsafe working conditions.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols while on company premises and at client locations.
- Perform additional related duties as necessary based on situational needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Possess and maintain relevant distributor manufacturer and jurisdictional certifications, including but not limited to AS-3, WSP Journeyman License, and WA-ITT.
- Willingness to work overtime, outside standard business hours, or weekends as required to meet client needs.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
